6.0 oil pan gasket.

So over the last year or so I have noticed my oil pan has slowly been leaking more and more. does anyone know about the time fram it takes to replace it, i was looking underneath my pickup and realized there are alot of obstacles to replace it so any info will help thanks.

  The common 6.0 problem is the bed plate not the oil pan.  Pull the motor, pull the bed plate replace the o-ring type gasket and apply sealant or maybe just try a silicone type sealant?  this was one of the reasons the 6.0 is called the 6 leaker or sick leaker. Maybe Glen will chime in with a permanent solution besides just let it leak.. Undecided

Done a few on a van chasis. Takedown clean and put together about 3 hours.

the issue is there is a large cross member and stuff in the way so just dropping the pan down seems out of the question. man i wish it was like on a tractor trailer much more simple and more room

all you should need to do is take of motor mounts raise the motor and you should be able to unbolt pan and slide it out..

is it the oil pan or the rear main? I havent heard of much oil pan gaskets going but more common for the rear main. Either way it requires you to pull the motor

No requirements to jerk out the powerplant for a main or oil pan.
Simple stuff to do with it sitting in truck.

oil pan, i have a ring of oil building up all the way around the gasket even up front, ill check again to confirm
