whoh here. you guys are talking about like 3 different products.
The J/A is a fooler, does 0 programming to the computer. Has no vin locking becuase only one truck can run it at a time.
Some tuners, or flash devices do let you tune multipul rigs. not sure about the hypertech but some of the sct's can.
The older evos only allow you to tune one truck at a time. I skimmed the user manual on this one and did not see where it said you could tune multipul rigs (and Im 95% sure you can not) If the one for sale is locked (meaning another truck is running around with its tunes) the box can not tune a second truck. It can be used to grab coeds and as gauges however.
flashing a truck with a chip. I have never done it out of fear of screwing up the chip. With that said, a reputable 4 bank chip (almost all of them) completely replaces (for lack of a better example) the programming on the
pcm in ist entirety. stacking a true chip on a tuned
pcm (via flashing with something like an evo) is pointless. The truck uses the programing on the chip not whats on the
pcm. Stacking flashers and chips only gives you the ships programming.
Stacking a fooler. I know nobody asked but I'll touch on it since we are here. If your stacking a fooler on a chip or even a flash device, you should just step up and buy a real chip from a real tuner. your still not getting the most out of the truck and a chip eliminates the need for all the extra tuning devices and the potential problems those may give.
You Can just use the gauge features of the evo 2 or the j/a if you want too. just don't run any of the power adding and turn off the defuel features so as not to confuse the tuning.
Jeeper. Who cares if you run a chip and loan out the evo to suckers?
