Exhaust
03/25/09 at 18:58:32

What is the best exhaust to run on my 05? Right now I just have stock downpipe then 4" pipe with a 6" tip. I thought about stacks, but a couple of people suggested a muffler but I like the sound of the straight pipe.

4 in. downpipe and straight pipe. I do like the stacks, but I also put a camper in the back. I'm pretty much no help.

no need for a 4" DP, I'd suggest a 3 1/2" dp, as it's a tight fit and you'll NEVER have enough hp to need a 4". With 4" unless you modify the firewall you will have severe rubbing and loud noises. By the way MBRP sells just the DP, and stacks are wicked sounding on the 6.0 Cool

If all ya want is the performance aspect. I agree on the 3.5 down to the 4" and run it that way, cheapest and you won't outgrow it.. If you want it for looks or the cool factor, then the sky's the limit  Cheesy

I was looking at going with stacks until i realized that it would be tight for a quad and worry about stuff hitin them while in transport. So went with the 5inch single straight and love it. I was wondering though about the 4 inch down pipe? What year can you go with a 4inch down pipe looking under the hood and instaling the down pipe i dont think in an anyway coud you get a 4 inch down pipe on.Edited:

where theres a will theres a way, you can make anything fit with the right tools. But 4" pipe is not necessary on any year so why agravate yourself putting it on unless you just like to Undecided.

You wont be getting a 4" into a 97 without some serious sheetmetal work of the firewall. Its hard to get a 4" into a 99 and up 7.3 without doing some massaging.

Little massaging on the 95 - 97, can be done.
