It's not turbo surge. I've experience turbo surge many times. The pulsing of this sound cycles slower than turbo surge does.

I've been busy at work and home, so I still haven't had time to tear into intake and exhaust until tomorrow. Although it doesnt hiss like the EBVP, I'm wondering if something is going on there.

Tech - 2005 F350 Lift Kits???

I have the same truck, 05 f350 cc lb lariat, and i found my 6" lift on craigs list for 500 plus 4 used toyo mt 37-13.5-18 for 150. and i installed it in the drive way. took me about 8 hours, but that was because i was by my self for half the time, and that damn pitman arm. the brand was fab tech. if your looking for used, be patient and look at craigslist everyday. took me a couple of months to find this deal but it was well worth it. bought it off an old timer that was just tired of climbing in and out of his truck. the only bad thing that i found about doing it in the drive way is that i didn't have jack stands tall enough, so i did the redneck thing and stacked wood underneath the heavy duty jack stands i have(sketchy/not recomended) but if you got the tools it should be a 1 day job. good luck with the search.

Tech - Head light swap

I just did this swap in January. 2000 OEM to 04 bought new from rockauto for only like 30$ apiece or something. Yes, they do make much more light from the exact same bulb. The light is a much nicer pattern too with a decent horizontal cutoff. My plan was to upgrade harness and use high watt halogens but I think I'll stick with stock for now since the lenses made such a huge difference.

The bulb is the same, the harness on the truck is the same. You can even reuse your old 2000 bulbs if you want.

My aftermarket OEM style lights came with everything needed and there were no loose parts, just what stays on a light assembly when you normally remove it.

The metal clips were a royal PITA. I mean really, they were tough. I broke one totally and had to buy some new ones from autozone which had to be ordered and the replacements have little hooks that make it easy to remove them. Expect to hate life when removing the clips and be careful as it is easy to damage things.

All he needs is a complete light assembly and lots of patience.

I also swapped over to the 04 corner light assemblies since they were only like 10$ each and that really improves the looks too.
